JT Youth Baseball

Join the Jefferson Township Youth Baseball Program and experience America’s Favorite Pastime! We provide a fun, team-focused environment where boys and girls learn fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth—all while having a blast!

👥 Who can play?

JTYB is affiliated with Cal Ripken / Babe Ruth League and is open to boys and girls ages 4-16, divided into the following divisions:

Cal Ripken Baseball (Ages 4-12)

• T-Ball (Ages 4-6 / Pre-K - K) – Intro to hitting & fielding with a tee.
• Rookie (Ages 6-8 / 1st - 2nd Grade) – Transition from coach pitch to kid pitch.
• Minors (Ages 8-10 / 3rd - 4th Grade) – First level of competitive play with umpires.
• Majors (Ages 10-12 / 5th - 6th - 7th Grade) – Advanced play with expanded rules.
• Babe Ruth Baseball (Ages 13-16 / 7th - 8th - 9th Grade – Competitive play on 90’ diamonds, following Official Baseball Rules.

How Can I Coach My Child’s Team?

We’re always looking for volunteer coaches and assistant coaches! Many of our incredible coaches are returning, but with some moving up to Rookie, we need a few more to step up this season.

Coaching Requirements:

✔ Rutgers Safety Course – Required for all coaches. Jefferson Township will reimburse you if you take this course out of town. Check available courses here: Rutgers Course Schedule. A session will also be held in Jefferson this spring (Date TBD).

✔ Background Check & Child Abuse Awareness – Background checks are mandatory every two years and include the Child Abuse Awareness certification. More information will be provided to help you complete this process.

Absolutely! No prior coaching experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a willingness to help. Coaching your child’s team is a special opportunity to bond, create lifelong memories, and make a lasting impact on their love for the game.

How Can I Be a Sponsor for JTYB?

We offer multiple ways to support Jefferson Township Youth Baseball while gaining valuable exposure for your business or showing support as a parent.

Sponsorship Options:

✅ Team Sponsorship – Your name or business logo on team shirts (assigned first come, first serve). If your child’s team is already sponsored, your name will go on another team’s shirts or receive extra marketing benefits.

✅ League Sponsorship & Marketing – Gain additional visibility through signage, banners, and advertising in both Oak Ridge and Lake Hopatcong. This is a great way to maximize your community impact beyond team sponsorships.
